Ciara Gibson is a visual artist from Northern Ireland, now living and working in Highland Perthshire. Her work is intrinsically linked to the natural world, with the Scottish landscape providing continual inspiration. Her practice is shaped by everyday encounters with the natural world — woodland walks, swims in the loch, and time spent on open moorlands become starting points for work in both print and clay.

Printmaking and ceramics are central to her work. Through print making, she captures fleeting impressions of the land — moments of light, movement, and memory — using tools and marks that embrace experimentation and spontaneity. Alongside this, her hand-built ceramic pieces explore the textures and forms of the surrounding environment, translating the physicality of the landscape into lasting objects.

Teaching is also a vital part of Ciara’s practice. Working with pupils to investigate the natural world adds another dimension to her understanding, creating a dialogue between observation, creativity, and learning.

At the heart of her practice is a commitment to slowing down, paying attention, and fostering connection — both to the landscape and to those she works alongside.
